Flaska Cartoon – Making of

Today we launched our one and only Meet Flaska! cartoon.

In this article I want to describe the background of such a project. I have to tell you it’s really interesting. Creating your own cartoon – this might be a dream come true for a lot of people. It certainly was for us. Please watch the Meet Flaska! animated clip bellow and welcome to read on afterwards.

Meet Flaska

We cooperated with Studio Sanda on this project. We are really satisfied with their work and can only recommend them if you are considering a similar project. The process was very well planned. We followed the usual Studio Sanda’s process steps:

Step 1: Defining the content

Step 2: Drawing of the sketches and illustrations

Step 3: Creating the animation

Step 4: Adding background music and speech

Step 5: Postproduction and finalisation of the clip

Flaska Made from Glass
This is how we visualised the fact that Flaska is made from glass – an environmentally and health friendly material

Water structuring with Flaska
How to visualise the water structuring function? A tough one…
Flaska protective sleeves materials
I like this one – how to symbolize the individual materials the protective sleeve is made of

The whole project was something new and exciting for us. First deciding what the best way to present a glass reusable water bottle with a special feature was. Choosing the background music and voiceover was really fun. Deciding on how to visualise individual features or benefits. Cooperating in the process of visualisation. It was great. And I hope you find the end result great as well.

Auf Wiedersehen Düsseldorf! Hallo Berlin!

Last weekend we presented Flaska on the first of 4 Bio trade fairs in Germany. This one – the BioWest trade fair – took place in Düsseldorf. We’re still looking forward to BioOst, BioNord & BioSud.

Busy day on BioWest trade fair in Düsseldorf

So what were the reactions? After all Flaska barely skimmed the surface of German market until these exhibitions. It’s sold in a few shops in Bavaria and on-line. The feedback and reactions were great. Witzig, super Idee, Toll, aus Glas gemacht! are just a few thoughts we got from visitors. It was a professional trade fair so the positive attitude is important for us to be able to present Flaska to the whole German market.

Flaska among the NeuprodukteA market that is really demanding we found out. People are aware of problematic of various materials used for water bottles and food & drink containers generally. Visitors at our booth were questioning us about the smallest details about Flaska. So the fact that they were positive about it makes us satisfied as well as motivated to improve.

Flaska Organic in buygreen.com

Flaska Organic Green Products Standard Certification About a year ago Flaska’s representative in USA contacted a web retailer www.buygreen.us, specialised in selling green product. Our goal was of course for Flaska to be listed among the numerous environmentally friendly products found on their webpage.
After a while of waiting they responded and let us know that all the products in their web shop have to go through a thorough procedure where they are checked for their performance during material sourcing, manufacturing and disposal phases.

Of course we applied with our environmentally friendliest product Flaska Organic. And succeeded big time! Flaska Organic received a high grade – 81 and will soon be listed in their web shop. We are proud of it and hope other Flaska’s will follow soon.

Flaska, a friend of glass

When buying reusable water bottles, there are many factors to consider – volume, shape, price, design, … to name just a few of them. But lately type of material water bottles are made from became an increasingly important decision factor.

ReusaFlaska reusable glass water bottlesble water bottles are usually made from plastics, some of them steel and aluminium and a few from glass. Every material has its own benefits. When considering plastic it is the price and weight. Metal bottles are being used for outdoor sports mostly because of their durability. But when it comes to glass, health, environmental and aesthetical benefits are the ones that prevail.

Glass is an inert material and does not react with your water nor leach any substances into it. After all – glass is being used as packaging for best wines, cosmetics and medicine. It is also a material that can (and mostly is) recycled into products of same quality, not down-cycled as plastics for instance. It is a natural and environmentally friendly material. And it looks nice and valuable as well, don’t you think?

This is why Flaska bottles are made from glass. We consider taking care of our health and environment are by far the most important decision factors among the ones stated above. We are and always will be strong supporters of glass as the best material for food and beverage packaging and of course the best material for reusable water bottles. We also became partners of the Friends of Glass organisation. Our partnership in this programme is in a way logical Flaska has been faithful to glass since its beginnings.

We’re proud to be members of Friends of Glass!
